Facts…

Post-harvest losses due to rotting is a serious problem among farmers, especially in the developing countries. In the Philippines, spoilage of corn runs from 15 to 25 percent during the rainy season harvest. From 1996 to 2000, the Philippines imported corn valued at P10.94 billion. During the same period, the country lost, due to spoilage, an estimated P14.27 billion worth of corn (source: Bureau of Agricultural Statistics, Departement of Agriculture). Post-harvest rotting reduces grain quality and weight. It predisposes grains to aflotoxin, a potent carcinogen.

Thus…

SIDLAKPINOY, Inc. manufactured the SIDLAKAN Dryer. It is designed to handle even dripping-wet grains. This is because heavy grain harvests usually coincide with heavy rainfall. SIDLAKAN is a continuous flow, circulating type dryer which ensures even drying and more efficient grain cleaning. SIDLAKAN Dryers use a state-of-the-art gasifier burner which utilizes farm wastes such as corncobs, ricehulls and wood & coconut wastes as heat source.

The SIDLAKAN Mechanical Grain Dryer:

A mechanical dryer that can handle grains especially rice and corn. Can easy handle:

1.) dripping-wet grains.

2.) grains heavily contaminated with foreign matters like corncobs and straws.

The SIDLAKAN Burner:

The most expensive item in drying is cost of heat. This constitutes up to 50 percent of total drying cost, especially when petroleum is used. The SIDLAKAN Burner uses a gasifier system to convert farm wastes to combustible gases to substitute petroleum. These farm wastes include corncobs, ricehull and wood & coconut wastes.

Outstanding Features:

  • All-Steel construction
  • Controllable grain flow
  • Easy to clean and inspect dryer columns
  • Very efficient cleaning system. A 3-stage cleaning process results in very clean grains, ideal for seed drying or milling
  • Large and strong elevator buckets for quick and easy loading and unloading.
  • Very cheap fuel cost (SIDLAKAN Burners deliver heat that is priced 1/20 than that produced by petroleum-fed burners.)
  • Only 20% of farm wastes is needed to dry the grains produced. The rest can be used for mulching, composting or vermi-composting.
  • Adaptable, affordable, easy to operate and maintain
